Row, row, row your boat, and cheer for the Run of the Charles!

“I've been told that I can no longer speak for everyone, but, to the last person, we deemed the resuscitated Run of the Charles a great success.”

- Greg Lesher, ROTC Racer

The Run of the Charles from a racer’s perspective! If you need a laugh, check out Greg Lesher’s post about this year’s race. Read it here >

After a four-year hiatus, our beloved Run of the Charles, New England's largest flat-bottomed boat race, made its triumphant return. Held along the scenic Charles River, much to the delight of paddlers and spectators alike, more than 450 racers ignited the river with energy and excitement, competing in 3-mile, 6-mile, 9-mile, and 12-mile races.

At the heart of the event, DCR's Herter/Artesani Park served as a thrilling finish line, bustling with spectators and featuring a food truck by Mi Corazon Taqueria, live music from Mid Life Crisis, a raffle, games, and more. In the words of the MWRA’s Dave Coppes, “I’m so glad you brought this event back; it’s my favorite!”.

We would like to thank the racers, volunteers, and sponsors who made the race's return such a success. It wouldn't be possible without our sponsors: Paddle Boston, Massachusetts DCR, SGH, Dick's House of Sport, New England Bio Labs, Boston Duck Tours, Red Sox Foundation, MWRA, Bergmeyer, BETA, and Osprey.
